Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Many women and men want to rejuvenate their facial appearance but do not want to undergo surgery. For these patients, Dr. Greco offers highly effective non-surgical procedures, such as facial injectables.

The injectables Dr. Greco recommends and uses most often include Botox and Juvederm.

Facial Injectables

Botox is the best-known facial injectable, and every year thousands of people choose Botox treatments to refresh their facial appearance. Injections take mere minutes and require no downtime: patients can return to work and other daily activities almost immediately.

Botox Cosmetic temporarily relaxes the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. It is most commonly used for crow’s feet, under-eye lines, vertical lines between the eyebrows and fine lines on the forehead. Dr. Greco carefully selects the injection sites according to each patient’s individual anatomy and muscle structure, and administers a very precise amount that smooths lines while avoiding an unnaturally flat look.

The results gradually diminish over time, and the rejuvenating effect can be extended with follow-up treatments every five to six months.

Although Juvederm is injected just like Botox, it works very differently. While Botox smooths fine lines, Juvederm is a dermal filler: it adds volume to sunken areas of the face and “fills in” deep wrinkles. Its hyaluronic acid draws water molecules in the skin, so the skin appears suppler and plumper.

Dr. Greco uses Juvederm to soften the nasolabial folds – the prominent lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth – as well as to enhance the volume of the lips and restore “sunken” cheeks. Injections take less than half an hour, and patients usually do not experience any major discomfort. Results become apparent within one week and last about six to nine months, after which the treatment can be repeated.

After Your Facial Injectables Procedure

Most patients do not experience any pain or major discomfort during or after facial injectable procedures. While minor swelling might be present at the injection site, most people are able to resume their regular daily activities almost immediately – which is why injectables are sometimes called the “lunchtime facelift.” The results typically last about four to eight months, depending on the injectable used, and can be extended with periodic follow-up treatments.
